Boho – Eco is characterized by using only natural fabrics such as silk, linen, and cotton. This trend allows using a large scale of ethnic motifs not only in accessories but also in prints. Vintage, elegance, lots of details and tender romantic images are basic peculiarities of this trend.

Boho – Glamour is famous for using furs, light fabrics (such as chiffon), lace, bow-knots. In addition, the stylists recommend wearing massive jewelry and vintage designer bags. This is sonorous, emphasized feminine style with lots of lace, frills, ruches, fichu, art punch work with styles like the white lace boho dress.

Boho – Hippie gives you a chance to “play” with different motifs in your outfit, and they can be traced not only in the mode of dressing but also in the range of colors of your suit, which can be combined with a big belt, large bright glasses, and massive jewelry. Plenty of colorful knitted items, fringes, using burlap and Mouton characterize its democratic style. The boho-vintage style is represented by old-fashioned dresses, coats, and shabby shoes. An old big grandmother’s handbag or a vintage bag is exactly what you need if this style is your choice. Boho vintage trend is preferred by the English people, who adore old-fashioned things.

Boho – Classic is famous for using clothing of vintage style, designed from jersey (should necessarily be hand-knitted), velvet and lace fabrics. It looks expensive and very beautiful.

One of the main rules of “Bohemian” style – is to keep the balance of taste, in order not to look ridiculous. You can mix, match and experiment in order to get the image, meeting the requirements of the ultra-modern style. Boho Fashion

Girls who prefer boho fashion to other styles always stands out from the crowd. It is easy to recognize boho style by its bright colors and lightness. Boho is a kind of sublimation of many styles: gypsy, ethnic, hippie, cowboy, folk, casual. Thus, all boho clothing has elements of different trends that were popular at different times.

It is considered that the history of Boho fashion has evolved over two hundred years. “Boho” is a derivative of the word Gypsy “bohemiens” (literally “vagabond”) – the so-called gypsies who strolled around the territory of the Czech Republic – the Central Bohemia. Their multi-layered, bright and colored clothing personified the spirit of their freedom and unruliness.

In the 60s, these items of clothing were appreciated by freedom-loving hippies who have added this style by some fashionable western trends. And its rebirth happened in 2000s, when some celebrities and show business people, tired of glamour brands, began to combine different styles of clothing in their images. So, it appeared in London, and Kate Moss is considered to be its founder. This glamour lady has irreproachable taste and sense of style. Thus, the Boho fashion was born, the style, where each item of clothing is designed to trifles. It is a crazy mix of expensive designer items with cheap details of street clothes. However, it gave birth to a new trend, and those who prefer Boho fashion, look exquisite and rather elegant.

Here are some examples of modern Boho images: long cotton tunics and silk dresses, combined with military style boots, ugg boots or shabby boots, fur vests, old-fashioned jeans and vintage blouses made of chiffon or any other light fabric, with sandals in Greek style, ponchos or bandanas, multi-layered skirts, maxi dresses of linen and cotton, jackets and oversize sweaters, and many other weird and unusual items of clothing. So, all those who want to try different styles of Boho fashion, should pay attention to all these items and be brave making experiments with their appearance. And of course, they should choose suitable footwear and accessories, in accordance with the style.

Learn how you can dress hippie really. In today’s fashion scene it’s become quite popular to dress in a way that calls back to the fashion of the 60s and the hippie subculture. However, these outfits available at the local mart, (wink) is not necessarily how to dress hippie. Following the standard, regurgitated fashion made in mass flies in the very face of true hippie fashion.

First of all, hippies did not “try” to dress hippie. Their clothing reflected who they were and what their outlook was on life and the world at large. It’s difficult to mimic standing for something. I am surprised often when I talk to younger people who think they are “into” the hippie scene. They think it really is about the clothes or smoking pot or alternative music. They’ve missed the entire point – and that is THE POINT.

I also think these youngsters tend to think that the hippies were a unified group. The reality is that their only unification was that they were breaking away from the norm. In so doing, they broke away in a multitude of ways. Some were into drugs. Some were into music. Some were into art. Some were into living off the land. Some were into sex. Some were into religions. You name it, they scoped it out. Plain and simple. None of them were into everything. It wasn’t that homogenized. As such, their clothes reflected the particular bent they were on.

Additionally, their so-called fashions were actually a rebellion and breaking away from the standard in and of themselves. This was diametrically opposed to the concept of “fashion-forward” or “fashion-backward”. The very idea that folks would head out and seek to or attempt to dress hippie should make any self-respecting hippie roll his eyes.

The clothes worn by hippies were made and repurposed from other items just so they DID NOT BUY the fashions of the day, furthering “the man” and his capitalistic money grubbing. They took old jeans and cut them up and sewed them together to make damn near everything! From quilts, to skirts, to jackets and vests and so much more.

They used bandanas to hold their hair back or out of their eyes as they were outside a lot. It wasn’t about wearing gang colors or fashion colors. Their headbands, clothes, hair, cars, windows, walls, bedspreads, floors and doorways became places to effect change, to beautify, to modify. Essentially they looked for a myriad of ways to alter the way things were. Some because they believed in the change. Some because they were jumping on the bandwagon or just thought something was cool.

Modern ways we do this is through tattoos and piercings. We are challenging the norm and looking for a way to make a statement. If you focus on your inner voice, formulating your world view and living honestly with that world view, you will be way closer to being able to dress hippie.
